- Carnegie Mellon University
The collaboration of CMU in this project is the HCI Institute, represented by Prof. John Zimmerman and Prof. Mark Gross. The Human-Computer Interaction Institute engages in multidisciplinary research and education in human-computer interaction. The scope of its work includes designing and testing of new tools and technologies to support human activity and organization, and building theory in the field. The research includes empirical and analytic studies of behavior, and studies of behavior in groups and organizations to inform the design and evaluation of new technologies. Students from supporting departments find a rich source of research opportunities in the HCII; and the Institute also offers a framework for research and development alliances with industry.
